Made for each other

Yay, the first outfit post in a long time, and I've got a lot of new clothes to show you. I've been looking for a winter coat for some time and I couldn't find anything I liked. Frankly, I wanted something rather classical in shape, but interesting in color. Instead, I found and fell in love at first sight with that one- it is black, as is most of my wardrobe, but I thought the coat and me were made for each other. You can't fight true love, can you? Just think about it- a coat styled after a motorcycle jacket? How could I not buy it?
I'm wearing three items I bought in the States: the red bag, Emus, and, last but not least, the dark object of my desire, ie faux leather skinnies. The inspiration for today's outfit was provided by Emmanuele Alt, with her love of military jackets.

Coat-Mango
Tee- Alternative Apparel
Military jacket-Easy Wear
Skinnies- Express
Boots-Emu
Bag- Michael Kors

New York, New York

No i jest to miasto, w którym słowo bohater naprawdę coś znaczy.

-w Sylwestra byliśmy na koncercie ojca rock and rolla, Chucka Berry
-znaleźliśmy mural poświęcony Joe Strummerowi z The Clash, tworzenie którego można zobaczyć w teledysku do "Redemption Song"

Welcome back

Hey guys, I'm so sorry for the lack of posting, but both my husband and I are fighting the flu since we got back from the States. We are sleeping through most of the day. I will post the pictures form NYC soon, I promise. Today I managed to catch some daylight to take photos of the shoes I bought in the States, so I post them first, OK?

So here is what I've gotten myself on sales: the wine-colored croc patent sandals are from Liz Clairborne, purple flats with teal and magenta stripes from Restricted ( and so are nude patent flats). The high heeled booties are from Sigerson Morrison for Target, the color is more purplish in real life. I have to show you them on me, maybe it will be easier for you to see how they really look. The gray flats I bought at Gap, they are very well cushioned and comfy. I wear them withouth tights or socks on January 29th, it was that warm:-)

Then my most treasured find- Miu Miu sandals from Neiman Marcus, they were reduced from about 500 bucks:-)
The next pair - very simple, super comfy and sexy suede pumps from Calvin Klein.
Finally two pairs of sneakers, since my cat ate my favorite pair some time ago;-)
I also bought two pairs of Emu Bronte Hi, black and gray. They are so comfy and warm, I even run the test of wearing them without the socks in such a freezing weather we have in Poland at the moment, and they passed it without any problem.

Oh, I've just realized I forgot to take the pix of my Michael Kors bag earlier. I took them right now, but the light wasn't so good.

Merry Christmas to you all:-)

Ok, so the suitcases are all packed and we are ready to go. We decided to take a spare suitcase for the multiple purchases we are planning to do in NYC:-). We are due to land at JFK at 8.30 P.M, and it should take us about an hour to get to Midtown Manhattan via Air Train and subway. I can't wait to be there again, and this time with my hubby:-).

I really don't think there will be so much snow as at the pictures above, althoug it would be awesome. The forecasts say there is a change of snow, but still,I guess it will be slightly too warm for it to stay. We'll see. And soon I will have my own pictures of the Christmas tree and angels at the Rockefeller Center:-)

I can't promise I will post while I'm in NYC, so I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

And here is a small gift for you, my all time favorite Christmas song:

NYC wishlist

I'm really sorry for the lack of outfit posts, but when my photographer gets home it's too dark to think about taking pictures. But no outfit post doesn't have to mean no post at all.

In two weeks we'll be in one of my most beloved cities: NYC, right in its heart, Manhattan:

Here's the view of Midtown, as seen from the Empire State Building

We'll do a lot of sightseeing, I'm sure there's a lot of places I haven't seen so far, a lot of things I want to see again. We're planning to take loads of pictures this time. And the big plan is to do a lot of shopping.

Here are some of the items of my Most Wanted List:

From the top left: Jeffrey Campell Wrap platform, Express faux leather pants, Forever 21 quilted handbag, Armani Exchange lace dress, Jeffrey Campbell Marly heels, Forever 21 belt, Forever 21 sequinned skirt, Kimchi Blue dress, Urban Renewal destroyed shorts.

The list is far from over:-)
. We'll se how the shopping will go. I plan to look for the designer items, as well, as they will go on sale.

My presciousss

And those are my ripped jeans... I'm still nort sure they're finished, although I guess I won't destroy them anymore, I don't want them to be tacky;-). They took some serious amount of work as they are, though. I will be wearing them in different combinations, with blazers as shown in the previous post, or with a band t-shirt. I can't wait to get my Dokken tee I bought on eBay a few days ago.

Oh, the 90's:-)

You don't know it yet, but I absolutely love the movie "Wayne's World". It's a great glimpse of the 90's musical scene ( at least that hard rock part of it rather than the grunge scene). The movie, or rather both movies, are really silly but hillarious. I love the opening sequence of the first movie, with the headbanging to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody:

It makes me do the same everytime I hear the song:-). And there's the fashion- the ripped jeans, the band t-shirts, the plaid shirts, the snickers. All the classics of that decade;-). I haven't worn ripped jeans in many years, probably since the late 90's. And the funny thing is, I really feel like doing it now. So I've spent the last few weeks searching for the perfect pair of jeans, then I decided I own the pair that would be nice, although it's not in the light wash I wanted. And you know, ripping jeans is no easy job. But I did it, and hope I will be able to show you the results soon, maybe tomorrow.
So far I can give you this:

Grunge-y chic;-) by dakota77

I'd totally wear the ripped jeans this way:-)
